Kat,

You are so amazing. I can’t tell you that enough! Thank you so much for the chocolate you gave me this morning. It was well needed and very much appreciated. (: It made my day!

I am so thankful to have you as my friend. You are so caring. You are one of my top examples as one who puts others before themselves. I am extremely blessed to know you… I look up to you so much!

Well, that is all.

I love you!

Love, Me

Giving Thanks

Today I am so thankful for everything that I have. Looking back at all of the things I’ve been given, just makes me think… What if I lost all of those things? What if I lost everything? What if I had nothing? Compared to some people, I have so much. More than I deserve, probably. But I am so grateful for everything that I have been blessed with.

I am thankful for family. For my parents, cause without them, I would obviously not be here, and without them I would not be half the person I am today. I’m thankful for my mom and her constant working to keep the house clean, earn money by teaching piano, and keep her kids on top of things. I’m thankful that my mom has taught me how to sing and play the piano. She is so talented and just amazing. I’m thankful that my dad works so hard to provide for his family, even though he hates his job. I’m thankful for my dad’s sense of humor and how he can put me in a good mood instantly. I love his stories and I am so thankful for the strength he is to me. My dad is my hero… I’m thankful for my siblings, and for those times we just sit around lazily and do nothing but laugh and joke around, and take that time to relax and be ourselves. I’m thankful that my siblings don’t judge me, and for all the wrong things I do, they still love me and accept me. We can get so weird and obnoxious around each other, and I am so grateful for those times that we do, because they will always be good memories to hold on to. I’m thankful for my cousins, and how we all get along and love to be around each other. Fighting with my cousins is just unthinkable. I love all of them to death, and they are all filled with light and happiness. I love visiting, every time I go is a good time. I’m thankful for my grandparents. For their patience, for their true and charitable love towards their families, for the times they make me laugh. I’m thankful for my grandparents’ hugs, and how they always whisper ‘I love you’ when they hold me. I’m thankful for my grandparents, because they make me feel so good about myself, and talk as if they have the best family in the whole world… You know what? I actually believe that. My family is amazing. I am so thankful for them and their examples.

I am thankful for friends. Whether they have always been my friend, or maybe we’re not friends anymore… But I am thankful for every opportunity I have had to make someone smile, to hang out with them and really have a good time. To feel like there is nothing better than having the friends that I do. I’m thankful for past friendships, the ones that have ended already; I am thankful for what they have taught me. In a way I have learned from them true friendship and loyalty, I have realized who my real friends are, and I know who to hold on to. Friends should always be worth it. I am thankful for the friends I have right now and for their examples. Even though I’m crazy weird around them, they just laugh and tell me I’m so funny. Maybe it annoys them, but they don’t show it. I’m so thankful I have friends that accept me for who I am and love me for me. No matter my flaws, they still love me. I don’t think they would ever just give up on me, or walk out of my life. I am so thankful to have that assurance. I want to hold on to these friends forever. At times they are like my lighthouse, and when I am feeling down, they know just what to do to make me smile again. I love the friendships that I have, and the happiness my friends bring to me. Hopefully my friends know that I love them. Because I do… I am so thankful for them. I never want to lose them…

I’m thankful that I live in a free country. I’m thankful that I am able to get an education. I’m thankful for my house. I’m thankful that I have a bed with warm covers to sleep in every night. I’m thankful for music, and how easy it is for people to express themselves through a simple song. I’m thankful that I’m able to connect to music, and I’m thankful that I can sing and share that talent with others. I’m thankful for rain and snow. I’m thankful for the fall and how breathtaking it is to stop and look around at the colored leaves. The world is so beautiful. It’s impossible to me to think that there is no God–the world wasn’t an accident. It didn’t just happen. God created it, and He made it beautiful. I am so thankful for my Heavenly Father, because He made this life possible and gave me everything I have. I am so especially thankful for my Savior. Without Him, I would be done for, and there would really be no point in my life. I am so thankful for the Atonement and the ability I have to repent and go back to Christ any time I mess up. He will always be waiting for me with open arms. I am so so thankful that I have the knowledge of the gospel, that I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I’m thankful for my church leaders and the shining examples they are to me. I have so many good examples in my life. I’m thankful for food. I’m thankful for hot chocolate. I’m thankful for pizza, and soup, and tacos, and milk, and bread, and brownies, and mashed potatoes, and orange chicken, and basically everything else. I’m thankful that I can eat every day and not go hungry. I’m thankful that I always have clean clothes to wear every day. I’m thankful for coats, and socks, and jeans, and t-shirts, and boots, and pajamas. I’m thankful for running; it makes me feel really good. I’m thankful for my journal. I’m thankful for the blue wall in my room. I’m thankful for laughter. I’m thankful for smiles. I’m thankful for cute little kids. I’m thankful for my studly five-year-old cousin that looks just like his daddy. I’m thankful for pictures and the memories they capture. I’m thankful for my phone, my iPod, and my computer. I’m thankful for voice-mail. I’m thankful for all my favorite movies. I’m thankful for hot water, and soap, and conditioner. I’m thankful for the days when my hair cooperates, for when it’s soft, and the fact that I’m the only blond in my family makes me happy. I am thankful for the days when I am in the best mood for no real reason at all. I’m thankful for those people that can always make me laugh. I’m thankful for my bracelets. I’m thankful for Girls Camp, more importantly, the girls in my ward. I’m thankful for the learning experiences I’ve had recently… I’m thankful for this summer. I’m thankful for the scriptures. I love the Book of Mormon and The New Testament. I’m extremely grateful for my seminary teacher. I am really thankful for sleep. I’m thankful for my soft purple pillow. I’m thankful for emotions and feelings… without that, life would actually be pretty dull. I’m thankful for happiness, but I’m also thankful for sadness; that I’m able to cry a little and then hopefully move on with a new perspective. I’m thankful for summer of 2011 and freshman year and everything I’ve learned from those eleven months. I’m thankful for writing. I’m thankful for books and the adventure contained on the pages. I’m thankful for church sports and for my coach. She is amazing. I love her so much. I’m thankful for the parties we have at her house. I am thankful for glasses and contacts, for a working toilet, for a sink and a bathtub, for a fridge, a stove, and a dishwasher, for a washing machine and drier, for a fireplace. I’m thankful for windows. I’m thankful for my piano. I’m thankful for the snowy nights that are so peaceful. I’m thankful for Christmas and the joy it brings to everyone. I’m thankful for buttons. I’m thankful for pencils. I’m thankful for For The Strength of Youth and the standards it teaches. I’m thankful that I have standards, that I know right from wrong. I’m really grateful for the fact that most of these things all go back to my church. The church really is who I am. I’m thankful that I will be able to see my best friend again… and my grandpa, and great-grandparents. That day will be spectacular. I am so thankful that I have that to look forward to, I’m thankful that death is not the end. There’s a whole eternity ahead of us. I’m thankful that because of my wonderful parents, I have an eternal family. I’m thankful for whoever that boy is that will love me enough to take me to the temple to be his forever, someday. I am so thankful for temples, and for church buildings. I am thankful for a true and living prophet and for his Apostles. I’m thankful for all the blessings I receive daily.

This is a pretty long list… I think I’ll stop now. But just so you know, I’m so grateful for whoever is reading this. If you actually read the whole thing, you are awesome. I love my life. I am truly happy to be here, with all these amazing people.

Happy Thanksgiving.

Life is good :)

She wished she could get inside his head. Climb in and go deep down. Maybe she’d be able to find every thought he’s ever had of her. She’d spend hours and hours studying and analyzing every single one of his thoughts—good or bad—trying to understand him. Him… A picture comes to mind. He’s laughing. He turns and looks at her, their eyes lock for a moment, and then he looks away. What is he thinking? What’s going through his head? Is it her? Does he think of her? Does he miss her? Does he miss her, even a little?

She wished she could get inside his head.
